Ibiza is one of the most desired destinations in the Mediterranean.
But when it comes to booking a sailing trip, one question always comes up:

Is it better to go basic… or all-inclusive?

Short answer: it depends.
Honest answer: in most cases, all-inclusive is absolutely worth it.

Let’s break it down.

What “all-inclusive” really means on a sailboat

When we talk about an all-inclusive sailing experience in Ibiza, it’s not just about food and drinks.

It’s about letting go of everything you’d normally have to manage.

Typically, it includes:

Skipper (who handles navigation and planning)

Fuel

All meals and drinks during the trip

Paddle surf, kayak, and snorkel equipment

Route planning based on weather and sea conditions

Daily onboard organization

In simple terms: you don’t manage anything — you just enjoy.

The real difference vs a basic charter

On paper, a basic option may seem cheaper.
In reality, it often isn’t.

With a basic charter, you’ll have to:

Do the grocery shopping before boarding

Estimate quantities (and usually get it wrong)

Organize meals every day

Cook or rotate responsibilities within the group

Manage supplies, ice, timing, and logistics

Wash the dishes and cutlery after eating and leave the kitchen ready for each meal

Result: you spend time, energy, and attention on things that don’t matter.

With all-inclusive:

You arrive and everything is ready

You eat well without thinking about it

You drink without counting

No constant decisions

The rhythm flows naturally

👉 The difference is not the price. It’s the experience.

The real value: actually switching off

This is what most people underestimate.

A sailing trip is not just about moving from one place to another.
It’s about how you feel while you’re there.

With all-inclusive:

You’re not thinking about groceries

You’re not cooking

You’re not organizing the group

You’re not solving problems

You’re present.

You sleep at anchor.
You wake up without an alarm.
You sail when it feels right.
You stop when you want.

👉That’s what people remember. Not the cost.

Who is it really for?

All-inclusive isn’t for everyone, but it’s for most people.

Especially if:

It’s your first time on a sailboat

You want to disconnect, not organize

You’re a couple or a group of friends

You have limited time (2–4 days)

You want comfort without complications

If your priority is saving as much as possible and you don’t mind managing everything, basic can work.

But if you want the full experience, all-inclusive wins.

The Ibiza & Formentera factor

This matters more than people think.

Ibiza and Formentera are not cheap destinations — and that affects basic charters too.

Expensive supermarkets

Expensive restaurants

Limited logistics once you’re anchored

Difficulty in getting taxis to reach the supermarkets that really worth it

With all-inclusive, all of that disappears.

👉 Everything is already taken care of before you even start.

So… is it worth it?

Yes. But not for the reasons most people think.

It’s not worth it because it “includes more”.
It’s worth it because it removes everything that gets in the way.

And when you remove that, what’s left is what matters:

The sea.
The calm.
Time without pressure.

Our way of doing all-inclusive

At Navega y Disfruta, all-inclusive is not a package — it’s an experience.

Small groups (max 8 people)

No fixed routes

Adapted to the wind and the moment

Slow, relaxed rhythm

Because it’s not about seeing more places.
It’s about experiencing them better.

Final thought

If you’re deciding between basic or all-inclusive, ask yourself:

Do you want to organize a trip… or actually disconnect?

That’s the real difference.

Planning a few days sailing around Ibiza and Formentera usually starts with one simple question: Is it better to share a boat… or have it all to yourself? It’s not just about price. It’s about how you want to experience it. Because it’s not the same to adapt to a plan… as it is to create your own. It’s not the same to share moments… as it is to choose who you share them with. And that’s where the real difference lies. Shared sailing: open to the unexpected Sharing a boat is, for many, a different way of traveling. You step on board with people you’ve never met before, and within a few days you’re sharing the sea, conversations, swims at sunset, and nights anchored under the stars. It has something special: But there’s something important to understand:👉 not everything depends on you The pace, the stops, the atmosphere… are shared. And that can be amazing… or not so much. It depends on the group. Private sailing: real freedom Now imagine the opposite. You wake up with no alarm. You look at the sea.You decide whether to move… or stay a little longer. No schedules. No compromises. No rush. A private boat...

Many people assume a private boat is only for large groups.
So they don’t even consider it.

But that’s not always the case.

👉 You can book a full boat even if you’re just a few people.

And when you split the cost…
the difference is often smaller than you think.

But the experience isn’t.

So… which one should you choose?

If what you’re looking for is:

meeting people

going with the flow

a more social vibe

👉 Shared sailing can be a great option.

But if what you really want is:

to disconnect

to have your own space

to experience Ibiza and Formentera at your own pace

👉 Then you’re probably looking for a private boat.

In the end, it’s not about the boat. It’s about how you want to feel

You can visit the same coves.
Swim in the same water.
Watch the same sunset.

But it won’t feel the same.

Because the difference is not the destination.

👉 It’s the freedom.

Not sure which option is right for you?

Tell me how many you are, what kind of trip you’re looking for

and I’ll tell you—clearly and honestly—what fits you best.

👉Simply put: what feels like a luxury in August becomes an accessible experience in May.

However, there is a much more special way to experience the Pitiusas Islands: sailing between them for several days and sleeping on a sailboat anchored in front of their stunning coves.Sleeping on a sailboat anchored in a turquoise-water cove.

A 3-day sailing trip between Ibiza and Formentera is the perfect balance: enough time to disconnect, sail, and discover incredible places without needing to dedicate an entire week.

Here is what this itinerary usually looks like.

Day 1: From Ibiza to the Crystal-Clear Waters of Formentera

The adventure usually begins in the south of Ibiza, where the sailboat departs towards Formentera

In less than an hour of sailing, the first turquoise waters that have made the island famous begin to appear.

The first stops are usually:

Ses Illetes, considered one of the best beaches in Europe

Espalmador, a small untouched island with incredible waters

It is the perfect place to:

swim in crystal-clear water

go snorkeling

relax on deck while the sailboat gently rocks on the sea

As evening approaches, the boat remains anchored in a quiet cove where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Discovering the Most Authentic Side of Formentera

After waking up on the sailboat, the day continues exploring some of the most beautiful places on the island.

Some typical stops may include:

Cala Saona, famous for its transparent waters

the west coast of Formentera, perfect for enjoying the sunset

During the day you can:

go ashore to have lunch at a beach restaurant

explore the coast by paddleboard or swimming

simply enjoy the slow rhythm of the sea

Spending a second night anchored makes the experience even more special.

Day 3: Sailing Back to Ibiza

The final day usually begins with a morning swim before starting the return journey to Ibiza.

Depending on the wind and the available time, the sailboat may stop at a few more quiet coves along the southern coast of Ibiza before returning to the starting point.

It is the perfect ending to a getaway that combines sailing, nature, and true disconnection.

Why Choose a 3-Day Sailing Getaway?

Many people hesitate between taking a one-day excursion or booking a full week at sea.

A 3-day sailing experience is one of the most recommended options because it offers the perfect balance between time, budget, and experience.

It allows you to:

sleep on the boat

sail between Ibiza and Formentera

discover less accessible coves

experience the sea at a relaxed pace, without rushing

That is why it has become one of the favorite getaways for travelers who want to discover the islands from the sea.

There are many ways to discover Ibiza and Formentera: renting a car, exploring their beaches, or visiting the most famous spots on the islands. But there is one experience that completely transforms a trip — and many visitors only discover it once they are already there.

Sleeping on a sailboat anchored in a turquoise-water cove.

No hotels, no schedules, no crowds. Just the sea, the gentle sound of the water, and the feeling of being in one of the most privileged places in the Mediterranean.

More and more travelers choose to experience Ibiza from the sea, because sailing allows you to discover a side of the islands that is impossible to see from land.Cada vez más viajeros eligen vivir Ibiza desde el mar, porque navegar permite descubrir una cara de las islas que desde tierra es imposible conocer.

What Is It Like to Spend the Night on a Sailboat in Ibiza?

Sleeping on a sailboat is very different from staying in a conventional hotel. The experience feels much closer to nature and to the rhythm of the sea.

At sunset, when most boats return to the harbor, the sailboat remains anchored in a quiet cove. The sea becomes calm, the light turns golden, and the atmosphere changes completely.

It is the perfect moment to:

swim at sunset

have dinner on board or in a nearby beach restaurant

watch the daylight slowly fade over the Mediterranean

Then comes one of the most special moments of the trip: falling asleep with the gentle rocking of the boat and waking up surrounded by crystal-clear water.

Many guests say it is one of the most relaxing nights they have ever experienced.

Waking Up in a Cove in Formentera

One of the greatest privileges of sleeping on board is waking up in unique places before the daily excursions arrive.

Imagine opening the hatch in the morning and finding the sea completely calm, with no noise around and the sun lighting up transparent waters.

It is the perfect time to:

swim before breakfast

go snorkeling in calm waters

enjoy coffee on deck while the boat gently rocks

Afterwards, the day continues sailing toward new coves in Ibiza or Formentera depending on the wind and the desire to explore.

Is It Comfortable to Sleep on a Sailboat?

Sailboats are equipped to spend the night comfortably. They have cabins, a bathroom, a kitchen, and outdoor areas where you can relax during the day.

AAnd when you sail with a skipper, you do not have to worry about navigation, anchoring, or the safety of the boat.

Your only mission is to enjoy the sea and disconnect.

How Many Days Is It Worth Spending on a Sailboat?

Yes. Professional skippers know the safest anchoring spots and monitor weather conditions to ensure a calm and secure night.

Does the boat move a lot at night?

Usually very little. The coves chosen for the night are typically protected from the wind, so the movement is gentle.

Do I need sailing experience to sleep on a sailboat?

No. If you book a sailboat with a skipper, you do not need any sailing knowledge.

How much does it cost to sleep on a sailboat in Ibiza?

The price depends on the type of experience and the number of days.

A one-day excursion is usually the most affordable option, while multi-day trips allow you to experience sailing and spend nights anchored in the coves of Ibiza and Formentera.

In general, 2- or 3-day getaways are the most popular, as they offer the perfect balance between time at sea and relaxation. In our case, we usually recommend the 3-day sailing experience with everything included, so you do not have to worry about anything except deciding when to swim, when to go ashore, or when to go snorkeling.

Hello people, in this chapter I continue with the summary of what my company is and then I will dedicate myself to telling specific anecdotes that happen to me daily and that are worthy of writing.

Previously I ended up counting the summary until the arrival of COVID. Until then, it was already well established in Gran Canaria with a good portfolio of clients, most of them gay ones.

With COVID we all had to think about what we were going to do. It was said that that first summer people were hardly going to fly with the fear of taking a plane and go to a destination that was going to be very controlled and limited at the same time.

If many planes were not expected, what was I going to do with the summer without tourism in the Canary Islands? In this way I decided to make the journey back to my town in Castellón and make weekly excursions from Burriana to Ibiza during the summer.

Everything seemed perfect, you arrive by car directly to the boat, a COVID test is carried out (they were very limited but my sister has an analysis laboratory and she came directly to the boat to carry them out) and you spend the week in a group visiting dream coves and without mixing with more people. It seemed perfect and it was, in fact it was a good summer and for me a breath of fresh air after 7 years without moving from Gran Canaria.

Since then I have been coming every summer, but now doing the excursions directly from Ibiza, thus avoiding the 12-hour journeys that seemed endless for some clients and making the stay around the island longer.

In this way today I do nothing but consider that in the future I will have to decide on one of the two work destinations, since the ship suffers the journey and the captain, that is, myself, with age prefers to establish himself more in one place and settle.

Also, my parents have got older and I would like to spend more time with them and reduce my sister’s work in taking care of them and worrying about them…

Right now, the Balearic destination is winning, since there are more places to visit, I am and always will be Mediterranean, and Gran Canaria due to the force of the ocean, has very limited visits to charming places and we have always to visit the same area, that is, the south of the island.

But life takes so many turns, that you never know what we will end up doing or where… Sailing for now is clear to me, but the place, the one life takes me…
